Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Last Updated: October 30, 2025

Have questions? We've got answers. Here are some common questions about the MyMET app and our services.

Why does the app show advertisements?

MyMET is a free application. The advertisements you see help cover the significant costs associated with development, server maintenance, and aggregating data from various official sources. This allows us to keep the app free for all users.

Is there a PRO version without ads?

We are currently exploring options for a one-time purchase "PRO" version that would remove all advertisements. We appreciate your patience and support as we work on this. Stay tuned for updates on this future feature!

Are you an official government agency (like MET Malaysia, USGS, etc.)?

No, we are not. MyMET is an independent application developed by Qim Lab. We aggregate and display publicly available data from official agencies (such as MET Malaysia, USGS, NOAA, DOSM, etc.) in a user-friendly format, but we are not affiliated with, nor endorsed by, any of these organizations.

How accurate is the data?

We strive for accuracy by pulling data directly from the official, reliable sources listed on our Policies page. However, our service is dependent on the availability and accuracy of these external feeds. The data is provided for informational purposes only and should not be used as a sole source for making decisions in life-threatening situations. Always consult official emergency services and local authorities.

Why do you need my location data?

We request location data (only with your permission) to provide you with relevant, location-specific alerts. This includes features like nearby earthquake notifications or local weather warnings. Your privacy is important to us, and this data is used only to power these core features of the app.

I have another question!

We'd love to hear from you! If your question wasn't answered here, please feel free to reach out to our support team at qimlab.official@gmail.com with any other questions or feedback.
